Dress Code

At Happy Feet Dance Studio, we believe that wearing the proper dress code creates an environment of confidence and structure.  This way it takes away the pressure and students can  focus on our mission of confidence and high expectations in class. Proper dress code gives students a sense of belonging to our family as well as creating an identity for our studio in the greater community. Our dress code also encourages discipline and increases a sense of belonging as well as studio pride.
 

Baby & Me & Tiny Two-Two's: Girls- Ballet leotards, tights and Ballet slippers OR comfortable, moveable clothing and bare feet. Hair should be pulled off the face. Boys- athletic shorts or sweatpants, t-shirt or tank top, Ballet slippers or bare feet. 

Minis 1: Ballet slippers, leotard and tights. If your child wishes to wear a dance skirt, we recommend a skirt that come attached to the leotard. Hair must be pulled off the face. Boys- athletic shorts or sweatpants, t-shirt or tank top, Ballet slippers or bare feet. 

Minis in Motion 2 & Tap: Ballet slippers, tap shoes, leotard and tights. If your child wishes to wear a dance skirt, we recommend a skirt that come attached to the leotard. Hair must be pulled off the face. Boys- athletic shorts or sweatpants, t-shirt or tank top, Ballet slippers or bare feet. 

Dance Basics: Ballet slippers and tap shoes. Leotard and tights with or without a skirt or dance shorts and tights with a fitted t-shirt or tank top . Hair must be pulled off the face. Boys- athletic shorts or sweatpants, t-shirt or tank top, Ballet slippers or bare feet. 

Jazz & Hip-Hop: Athletic pants, leggings or dance shorts and tights along with a t-shirt or tank top. If you wish to wear shorts they must have tights underneath.  Tan Jazz shoes are required. Hair must be pulled off the face. 

All Ballet levels: Black Happy Feet Dance Studio leotard (must be purchased through the studio), pink ballet slippers, ballet pink tights and black ballet skirt, black ballet shorts OR black Happy Feet shorts. Hair must be in a neat bun. 

HFDS leotards , tights, hairnets & ballet slippers are sold at the studio.

Tap: Athletic pants, leggings or dance shorts and tights along with a t-shirt or tank top.  Tap shoes are required. Hair must be pulled off the face. 

Acro: Any color leotard and footless tights with or without dance shorts. Acro shoes or bare feet. Hair must be pulled off the face. 

Contemporary: Comfortable and tight-fitting dance clothes (ex: leotard, leggings or athletic pants). If you wish to wear shorts they must have tights underneath. Bare feet or footundeez should be worn. Hair must be pulled off the face.
